Testimonial about San Blas

Chris from Norway - guest the Tesoro.

Why do tourists travel to San Blas, Nayarit? There are many answers to that question. A "laid-back" atmosphere where people have time to visit and talk with each other. The weather "winter months" (for Northrners) is steady and pleasantly warm. Miles of beaches, some totally undisturbed, are certainly a drawing point.

The cacaphony of sounds in the mornings; a truck blaring the message "El Gas" all through the neighborhood; myriads of black birds and others announcing another day; dogs barking; cocks crowing, and people driving to work with radios on max volume has its special charms once you get used to it! Who wants to miss the fishing fleet plying in and out of the harbour being followed by scores of pelicans, frigat birds and sea-gulls. And the markets: overflowing with fruits and vegetables of all sorts, fish, shrimp and lobster in addition to flowers. The plaza, in the center of town is the natural place for tourists and the natives to meet, is busy most of the time. For a Northern European thiese are a few of the impressions and visions that sit imprinted in the head on the return trip; friendly people, ready to laugh, and tolerant to one like me who murders the language.
